"Ivory Ware" Stoniers

 

These pieces were used in the First and Cabin Class dining rooms aboard many Cunard liners,

including the RMS QUEEN MARY (1936-1967),

RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH (1946-1968) and RMS CARONIA (1949-1968).

 

Left - Soup Plate - 9" dia. x 1 1/4" high

Center - Dinner Plate - 9 1/2" dia. x 3/4" high

Right - Salad Plate / Crescent (Bone Plate) - 8" dia. x 4 1/4" wide x 1" high

 

Top Left - Bread Plate (Cheese Plate) - 7 1/4" dia. x 5/8" high

Top Right - Berry Bowl (Pudding / Sweet Plate) - 6 7/8" dia. x 1 1/4" high

Bottom Left - Lunch Plate (Fruit Saucer) - 8 1/4" dia. x 1" high

Bottom Right - Fruit Bowl (Cereal Plate) - 7 5/8" dia. x 1 3/8" high

Bottom - Hors-d'oeuvre Dish - 9" x 5 5/8" x 1 1/2" high

In the picture above from the Cabin Class Dining room, you can see many of the Maddock pieces in use, including a dinner plate, salad crescent, celery oval, and bread plate. In addition it appears a large Foley shell is being used as well. Courtesy RMS Foundation.

These plates were part of the tea service used aboard the great Cunard liners.

This tray was used aboard the RMS QUEEN MARY to serve tea to passengers

lounging in deck chairs along her famous promenade.

Copelands Grosvenor China Stoniers

 

 

These pieces were used in First Class aboard the Cunard liners, and were used earlier than the Foley pieces.

aboard the Cunard liners, including the RMS QUEEN MARY.

aboard the RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH in Ft. Lauderdale in 1969.

from the MAURETANIA II (1939-1965).
